Dept.
of Chemistry in its persuasion to provide a platform for the students in
developing entrepreneurial skills, designed a certificate course in soap,
detergent & phenyl making which completed on February 10, 2020. Students
were taught the chemistry of soap & phenyl making and exposed with the
manufacture process including marketing & packaging of the products based
on the needs & demands of the stakeholders. At the end of the course
students were seen happy portraying their own products in hand prepared by
themselves in laboratory.

Alumnus Interaction with Students: Invited talk by Mr. Mohzib Quazi, Research Scholar, Myongji University, South Korea.
Dept.
of Chemistry organized a Guidance talk on “How to Get Ph.D. Positions Abroad”
& various funding agencies which offer research programs. Mr. Quazi Mohzib, Research Scholar, Myongji
International University, South Korea, an Alumnus of Dept. of Chemistry
delivered a talk and explored the possibilities of getting fellowships abroad
& the recent trends in research in the field of chemical sciences. His
presence in the department proved to be a sort of motivation for the students to
opt research as their career. Prof. B.G. Mahamulkar, guest faculty who taught
Mr. Mohzib two years back appreciated his commitment towards Dept. of
Chemistry.
Visit to Dr. Rafique Zakaria Campus, Maulana Azad College, Aurangabad [Activity Conducted under MoU]
Dept.
of Chemistry has signed MoU with Maulana Azad College, Aurangabad in 2019 for
academic exchange and research. In the context of this, A visit to Azad College
was organized on January 18, 2020. A talk on “Future Opportunities in Chemical
Sciences” was delivered by Dr. Arif Pathan, Head, Dept. of Chemistry. Principal
Dr. Mazhar Farooqui interacted & assured the students for a wonderful
cooperation in future on behalf of the institution so as to develop a good
academic culture between the institutes. Students enjoyed the hospitality &
beautiful campus and appreciated the steps undertaken by both the institutes.
Employability Training Program in Collaboration with “Association of Muslim Professionals”
An
Employability Training Program was conducted in collaboration with “Association
of Muslim Professionals (AMP)” for the final year students of UG & PG on
March 01, 2019. Mr. Imtiyaz Shaikh, Director & Recruitment Consultant
Manager, Get Set Grow, with more than 15 years of experience in corporate
interacted with the students and unleashed the traits to be adopted by the
students for achieving success in their professional life. He emphasized on how
to face interviews & how to get themselves ready for the market. With his
small tips but full of wisdom & experience, students learned a lot of new
insights in shaping their career.
Story Telling Competition [Based on Success Stories of Entrepreneurs]
Story
Telling Competition based on success stories of entrepreneurs was organized
Dept. of Chemistry on January 28, 2019. 15 students were shortlisted for the
competition out of 30 students. Students came to know the world of
possibilities to achieve success after going through the biographies of
entrepreneurs & particularly lot of hardships & failures they faced
during their struggle. The idea behind organizing this competition was to
provide students new cross roads apart from the conventional fields & to
develop the concept of Entrepreneurship which will make them job providers not
the job seekers.
Interaction of IIT Bombay Alumni with Students of SY & TYBSc
Dept.
of Chemistry organized a guest lecture on “Future Perspective in Chemical
Sciences” for SY & TYBSc students on January 22, 2019. Mr. Kailash
Chavan & his team, Alumni of IIT Bombay delivered a lecture on
opportunities after B.Sc. and M.Sc. they emphasized on IIT JAM, its examination
pattern & outcome of the examination.
